I personally make every fountain I sell.I have always been interested in water and on a trip to Sri Lanka in 1999 with my son we spent time in the area of Adams Peak (A important pilgrimage site for members of Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and the Christianity faith.) Members of all religions have been climbing this mountain for thousands of years in perfect harmony. Spending time in the valleys and climbing Adams Peak was an experience that will remain with me forever. One thing about the area that there are waterfalls up to 300 feet high as well as streams pouring out the surrounding hills in every direction. You can view Photos I have taken of Adams Peak as well as ther photos of India and Sri Lanka in my on line gallery by clicking here. I fell in love with the sound of water falling and the fountain building came about a few months after in In late 1999 I went looking for an indoor fountain with my wife in Philadelphia on South Street. I was disappointed at what was for sale. Most were out of the box or off the shelf cookie cutter type fountains at very high prices. The fountains also did not seem to have any life. I said to my wife that I can make a more interesting fountain than what we had seen. She said to go for it. Within ten days I had made a half dozen fountains. Some friends saw them and asked, "Do you sell these?" That was the beginning of Overbrook Fountains.

You will never see two fountains exactly alike from Overbrook Fountains. I personally make every fountain I sell. Every one is unique in its own way. They are user friendly and can be personalized with the addition of your favorite stones, crystals and plants as well as other accessories such as lights and foggers. These beautiful unique fountains range in height from 6 to 18 inches. The bowl sizes range from 8 to 18 inches. They have been designed and sold for home use as well as health spas and restaurants.

The fountains are very lively, and are sold directly to you at a reasonable price. The most common comment I receive is, "It looks like you have a lot of fun doing this," I do. The main building materials are stones and minerals artistically arranged. I also use bamboo, drift wood, sea shells and copper. Live plants as well as imitation greenery are blended into the fountain design. The pumps are of superior quality, European built and are virtually silent. (No humming and vibrating.) Pumps and foggers are backed by a 1 year manufacturer's warranty.

The fountains you see here are the ones you will receive. Every fountain is an original. I do not attempt to duplicate a fountain unless requested. It is virtually impossible in most cases to make one identical to another because of the unique material used.

Many of the the minerals used in the fountains I make are not household names. Names like apatite crystals, biotite, hornblende, feldspar, calcite, quartzite, beryl, diopside, gypsum, hornblende, mica, scapolite and microcline. These minerals are as beautiful as the more common ones that I also use such as turquoise, azurite, sodalite, agate and malachite. As one customer said, " Nowhere can you find such unique fountains - an array of really different materials adding to the unique designs." For more Customer Comments click here.

I make every effort to identify the materials accurately that go into the fountains I build. However I am a fountain builder not a geologist. So please forgive me if any mistakes in identification are made.

I collect many of the rocks and minerals mostly from Canada that go into every Overbrook Fountain. The slate bases are not purchased from dealers. I travel into the heart of the Pennsylvania Poconos Mountains and collect it myself. Some slate comes from roofs in the neighbourhood. Some of the more colorful stones and minerals I do purchase but most are dug right out of the earth by my wife and I. I often travel to distant place to collect materials for fountains. I grew up in Marmora in Southern Ontario near a town called Bancroft considered the mineral capital of Canada. I have lived with my wife and two children in Philadelphia PA since 1975. (The Children are now adults and have moved out of our house) I became a citizen of the USA in 1998 but retained my Canadian status as well.
